Before you begin there are a few things you should know.
This application is for Summer EBT benefits only. This is NOT an application for free/reduced price meals at your child’s school.
Most children who are eligible for Summer EBT will automatically receive benefits and do not need to apply. This includes children who receive SNAP, Temporary (cash) Assistance, Medicaid, or have been determined eligible for free/reduced price meals by their school. If your child is eligible to receive benefits automatically, please DO NOT submit an application.

If your child is not automatically eligible and must apply to receive benefits, families should submit only one application per household, and include all children on one application. Eligible children can only receive one Summer EBT benefit per year.
If you have recently moved out of New York State, you should apply for Summer EBT benefits in the State where the child completed the school year immediately before the summer break.
To be eligible for Summer EBT benefits through an application, your child must:
• Live in a household where the total household income is at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level.

• Be enrolled in a school that participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).
This application must be completed by a parent/guardian for the children.
You must complete this application in one session. You cannot leave the application and come back later to finish it. If you leave before it is complete and submitted, your information will not be saved. You will need to start a new application.
